Mulick Signs, Will Appear at Barons Hockey Fest

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed Group II restricted free agent defenseman Robert Mulick. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Last season, Mulick, 24, played in 24 games and tallied 24 penalty minutes with the Cleveland Barons, the Sharks top development affiliate of the American Hockey League.

In 2001-02 with Cleveland, Mulick posted a professional career high in penalty minutes (77) in 60 games. In 2000-01, he posted six assists with Kentucky, the former Sharks affiliate of the AHL, and was fourth among team defensemen in games played (71). In 1998-99, Mulick served as captain of the Sault Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League, and posted junior career highs in assists (12) and points (13).

Mulick will appear at "Barons Hockey Fest" at Strongsville's IceLand USA on Saturday, August 23rd from 12-6. Mulick will be joined by teammates Niko Dimitrakos, Lynn Loyns, and Yuri Moscevsky. Also appearing at the Hockey Fest are former Barons Bill Needham and Ian Cushenan, along with former Crusader Bob Whidden and ex-Lumberjacks players Chris Longo and Perry Ganchar. Parma native and member of the Pittsburgh Penguins Brian Holzinger will be on hand as well.

The six-foot-two, 215-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was selected by San Jose in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft (seventh round, 185th overall).
