July 25, 2015 - Pioneer League (PL)
Helena Brewers News Release

The Helena Brewers (16-17) made a six-run comeback on Thursday night against the Missoula Osprey (19-14) to win 9-8 and split their two-game series.

Helena took the first lead of the night, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Steven Karkenny singled and scored on the RBI double of Jake Gatewood. Gatewood would go 1-for-2 adding two runs scored before having to leave the game after six innings with a wrist injury. He was hit by a fastball from Bo Takahashi on the left wrist, but would finish the inning on the basepath and coming in to score. He did not return defensively and Jose Cuas would take over at short.

Trailing 8-2 going to the sixth, Helena mounted their largest comeback in a win of the season. Four runs crossed the plate in the sixth, highlighted by a George Iskenderian RBI double. Iskenderian would go 4-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. It was the first four-hit performance of his professional career.

Cutting the deficit to one going to the ninth, Cody Clark (0-3) recorded the first two outs of the inning for Missoula and looked to be in cruise control. He then surrendered three straight hits to the Brewers to tie the game, 8-8. Dustin Houle hit an RBI single to right with men on second and third and David Denson trotted in from third for what would be the game-winning run on a throwing error by the catcher, Matt Jones.

Chad Reeves (1-0) picked up his first professional win in his second year in the Brewers' system, pitching the final two innings and throwing shutout baseball.

The Brewers now head back to Helena for a two-game series with the Billings Mustangs. First pitch on Friday from Kindrick is set for 7:05 p.m. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
