
Brett Jodie Notches 250th Career Win as Patriots Top Skeeters

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (25-21, 75-41) defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters (20-26, 56-60) 4-2 Wednesday evening at TD Bank Ballpark in the rubber match of the series. With the victory Brett Jodie amassed his 250th career win as Somerset Patriots manager.
In the top of the first inning first baseman Mat Gamel and pitcher Will Oliver each committed an error that led to a pair of Sugar Land runs as the Skeeters took a 2-0 lead.
The Patriots plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-2 advantage. Both Gamel and catcher James Skelton recorded RBI fielder's choices while center fielder Ricky Claudio clobbered a RBI double.
Second baseman Nate Spears lifted a RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning to expand the Patriots lead to 4-2.
Oliver earned the win (3-1) tossing six innings while allowing two runs on five hits. Adrian Martin suffered the loss (4-3) going three innings while surrendering four runs on six hits. Andrew Carignan notched the save (2) pitching the final inning.
