YAKIMA, Wash. - Tyler Bream went 2-for-3, including a roped an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning, lifting the Yakima Bears to a 2-1 victory over the Boise Hawks, before 2,635 fans at County Stadium.

The Hawks scored first in the third inning, as Travis Garcia led off with a double, scoring on a one-out Pin-Chieh Chen RBI single. Yakima would answer in the sixth, getting a two-out seeing-eye RBI single from Jimmy Comerota to tie the score at 1-1.

The Bears had a chance to tie the game in the seventh, loading the bases with one out on a pair of walks and an infield single, but Bryce Shafer coaxed a pop up and line out to escape trouble.

Shafer walked Comerota to lead off the eighth, with Bream lining the next pitch to left to bring home the winning run. Kable Hogben then struck out the side in the ninth to log the save.

Both starting pitchers were solid - Yao-Lin Wang going five-plus innings, allowing just one run and seven hits, with Yakima's Teo Gutierrez going seven innings, allowing a run on four hits, striking out seven.

The two teams now head to Boise for a 7:35 p.m. game tomorrow night, with Austin Reed going for the Hawks against Adam Kudryk.
