Breaking Down the XI | All Hands on Deck
August 3, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Orlando City SC News Release
Orlando City is set to take on FC Dallas and will look to grab three crucial points in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
With Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup Semifinal looming, James O'Connor has decided to stick to his first team tonight. Their opponent on Tuesday, Atlanta United, did the same today against LA Galaxy.
In goal, of course, it's Brian Rowe. He has started all but two matches for the Lions this season.
In front of him is the familiar foursome of Moutinho, Jansson, Sané, and Ruan. These four have been some of the first names on the team sheet for the vast majority of the season and will look to continue their success tonight.
In the midfield we have Will Johnson, Carlos Ascues, and Sebas Méndez. In his first season with Orlando, Méndez has started 16 matches and been an anchor in transition for the Lions all season.
Up top, Dom Dwyer makes his first start since July 7th against Philadelphia and will pair with Tesho Akindele and Chris Mueller. In Dwyer's last five appearances he is averaging a goal every 93 minutes.
You can watch tonight's match in the Orlando Metro area on My65 and Youtube or nationally on ESPN+.
Starting XI Presented by Orlando Health: Rowe, Moutinho, Jansson, Sané, Ruan, Johnson, Ascues, Méndez, Akindele, Dwyer, Mueller.
Bench: Grinwis, Kljestan, Miller, Nani, Powers, Robinho, Smith
