Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) won their league-best seventh road game of the season as the Club defeated the New England Revolution 2-0 on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. With the victory, the Black & Gold snapped New England's 11-game unbeaten streak and handed the Eastern Conference side its first home loss since May 8.
Forward Diego Rossi scored his career-best 13th of the season with a left-footed volley over the Revs goalkeeper into the side netting just eight minutes into the match. The Uruguayan attacker has now found the back of the net in five of the last six matches.
Both sides would exchange chances for the remainder of the first half and early in the second, but it would be midfielder Latif Blessing that would double the visitors' lead following a great collective play in the attacking third.
LAFC remains in first place in the Supporters' Shield standings with a 16-3-4 record (52 points), becoming the first team in MLS to reach the 50-point mark. Next up for the Black & Gold is a home contest against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, August 11. The matchup is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT at Banc of California Stadium and will be broadcast on FS1, ESPN 710 AM, KFWB 980.
