
Braves win third straight

Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves beat the Durham Bulls 6-1 Tuesday at The Diamond. Kyle Davies pitched six strong innings in his return from Atlanta and the Braves scored four runs off Durham errors to win their third straight game.
The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI ground ball by Scott Thorman. Durham tied the game in the sixth when Pete LaForest chased a run home with a double. Richmond went ahead to stay in the bottom half on an error on a fly ball. The Braves pushed their lead to 4-1 in the seventh on an RBI single by Kerry Robinson and a throwing error on a bunt. In the eighth two errors on a ground ball gave Richmond two more runs.
Davies, who allowed one run and five hits while walking one and claiming seven strikeout victims, earned the win. Jimmy Anderson took the loss. Thorman and James Jurries had two hits each for the Braves. Earl Snyder had two hits for the Bulls.
