Jake Gautreau drilled a homer in the fourth to make it 3-1. The Braves answered with a James Jurries homer to make it 3-2 in the home half. Cooper tripled a run home in the fifth to make it 4-2. The Braves rallied in the eighth, helped by two Buffalo errors. Bill McCarthy knocked the tying and go-ahead runs home with a single. The Bisons threatened in the ninth, loading the bases, before a game-ending, six-throw rundown.
