Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves beat the Charlotte Knights 4-0 Monday at The Diamond. Damian Moss tossed 6.1 shutout innings to lead Richmond to their third straight win.
The Braves jumped in front to stay in the first inning, scoring a pair of runs. Josh Anderson led off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Diory Hernandez. Mark Jurich doubled a run home to give the Braves a 2-0 lead. The Braves tacked on two more runs in the seventh on a home run by Sal Fasano and an RBI double by Scott Thorman.
Moss did not allow a runner past second base in his 6.1 innings and he earned the win. Chris Resop and Jorge Julio also worked scoreless stints. Esteban Loaiza took the loss. Anderson and Jurich had two hits each for the Braves.
The Braves and Knights wrap up their series Tuesday at The Diamond with a doubleheader starting at 1 PM. Brian Lawrence and James Parr will pitch for the Braves against Clayton Richard and Lance Broadway.
