Braves and Fireflies Rained Out in Tuesday Matinee
April 9, 2019 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Rome Emperors News Release
COLUMBIA, SC - Heavy overnight rains caused a postponement of Game 2 of the series between the Rome Braves and Columbia Fireflies at Segra Park on Tuesday morning.
The two teams were able to wait out the rain and a 35 minute delay to complete Monday's series opener but the field was too wet to proceed with the early start time on Tuesday.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader in Columbia on Sunday May 12th. The first game will begin at 12 pm and both match-ups are planned for 7 innings.
The Braves wrap up their series against Columbia on Wednesday morning. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 am at Segra Park. Rome puts RHP Nolan Kingham on the mound. Columbia will start RHP Simeon Woods-Richardson.
Following Wednesday's game Rome will return home to Northwest Georgia to enjoy their Home Opener at State Mutual Stadium against the Greenville Drive. First pitch will be Thursday evening at 7 pm.
