Atlanta Gladiators News Release

Forward Andy Brandt has been called up to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

Brandt earned his first call-up of the season after he recorded 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) for the Gladiators in 43 games this season. He has a five-game point streak for Gwinnett earning seven points (four goals, three assists) in that span, the longest streak of the season for the forward.

Brandt was acquired from the Victoria Salmon Kings on June 14th to complete the trade that sent forward Matt Siddall to Victoria.

The Wausau, Wisconsin, native began his professional career in 2007 with the Gladiators. He joined Gwinnett after completing his senior season at the University of Wisconsin in 2007 and was held scoreless in 4 regular season and one Kelly Cup Playoff game with Gwinnett.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward, appeared in all 72 games with the Gladiators in both the 2007-08 season and the 2008-09 season with Gwinnett. He had a career year in his rookie campaign finishing with 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) to rank second in scoring among Gwinnett rookies that season.

Brandt earned two call-ups to the American Hockey League last year while with the Salmon Kings. He appeared in two games with Lake Erie and three games with Manitoba but did not register a point. Brandt finished with 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) for Victoria in 64 ECHL games.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
