Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, Manitoba -- The Brandon Wheat Kings may have averaged over 4,100 fans per home game during the 2007-08 regular season but sales for the Western Hockey League club's first two playoff home games this week have been disappointing.

As of 6 p.m. Monday night, only 2,200 tickets had been purchased for game three Tuesday night between the Wheat Kings and visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Trailing 2-0 in the best of seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series, the Wheat Kings will be hoping to continue their home ice winning ways on Tuesday. Brandon enters the game having won six straight games during the regular season and had the second best home ice record in the Conference during 2007-08.

In fact, Brandon is 11-1-1 in its last thirteen games played at Westman Communications Group Place.

"The guys know that when we come back here it adds a little more jump to their step," Wheat Kings' assistant coach Dwayne Gylywoychuk told Tyler Crayston of CKX Television on Monday. "We've got to have a good first period, a good start and things will go from there."

Game four of the series is set to go Wednesday night at Westman Place, with game five (if necessary) scheduled for Friday.

Should the series go the distance, games six and seven will be held Sunday and Monday in Lethbridge.

Tickets to games three and four are on sale now at the Keystone box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca
