Brandon Hudson signs with Sports

The Shreveport Sports have signed former Louisiana Tech pitcher/outfielder Brandon Hudson today.

Hudson, a native of Benton, Louisiana was an All-WAC player the past two years with the Bulldogs. This past year, Hudson was the third leading hitter at Louisiana Tech with an average of .343 with 4 home runs and 44 RBI's. As a relief pitcher at Tech, Hudson appeared in 19 games with a record of 5-3 with one save and a 4.40 ERA.

In high school at Benton, he helped lead the Tigers to three district titles, was named district MVP during his junior and senior season and was also a two-time all-city (Shreveport/Bossier) selection.

Hudson will be listed as a pitcher on the Sports roster, but will also be available to play outfield and be a designated hitter.

To make room for Hudson on the roster, the Sports have released outfielder Dusty Maddox. This is the first roster move the Sports have made since May 18th.
