Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

WICHITA, Kansas (January 22) - The Brahmas picked up right where they left off on Saturday night, scoring twice in the first period on Sunday on their way to a 3-2 victory over the Thunder.

With first-period goals from T.J. Fox and Jacques Perreault, Texas got out in front 2-0 early. For Fox, it was his 11th goal of the season and the second powerplay goal in as many nights for the Brahmas, who entered Sunday's game last in the CHL in powerplay efficiency.

After Matt Robinson got Wichita on the board early in the third period, Adam Hogg extended the Brahmas lead to 3-1 with 4:52 remaining. Alex Bourret, in his first game back with the Thunder after a stint in the AHL, brought Wichita back within a goal at the 17:03 mark, but Brahmas netminder Steve Silverthorn and the Texas defense were able to hold on for the final three minutes.

Silverthorn was stingy between the posts, stopping 33 of 35 shots put on net by the Thunder. Adam Russo made 22 saves on 25 shots for Wichita in a losing effort.

The Brahmas improve to 19-14-7, only five points shy of the first place Thunder. Texas returns home to take on the Tulsa Oilers on Friday, January 27 at 7:30pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
