Brahmas Win Big in Laredo
January 18, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (January 18) - The Brahmas beat the Bucks 4-2 in Laredo on Wednesday night, fueled by three second-period goals.
After Ross Rouleau's first-period goal gave the Brahmas a 1-0 lead at the first intermission, Texas exploded for three more scores in the middle frame as Chris Moran, Phil Fox and Dan Nicholls all beat Bucks' netminder Ryan Rondeau. For Moran, it was his first goal of the season since joining the team on January 6.
Texas goaltender Steve Silverthorn was strong, holding the Bucks scoreless for the first 50 minutes of the game. Ryan Sparling and Neil Trimm added goals for Laredo down the stretch, but it was simply too little, too late. Silverthorn made 22 saves on 24 shots fired by the Bucks, while his counterpart, Rondeau, stopped 31 of 35 Brahmas shots.
Texas improves to 9-0-0 when scoring four or more goals in a game this season and 17-13-7 overall. The Brahmas look to extend their winning streak to three games on Friday, January 20 when they play host to the Wichita Thunder at the NYTEX Sports Centre at 7:30pm.
