Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

Fort Worth-- The Ft. Worth Brahmas will be holding the "Teddy Bear Toss" promotion this Saturday night, Dec. 21 at the Ft. Worth Convention Center in conjunction with their home game vs. the Indianapolis Ice.

The Brahmas are asking fans that come to the 7:05 p.m. game to bring teddy bears or other stuffed animals with them. When the Brahmas score their first goal of the game, fans will be instructed to throw their teddy bears or stuffed animals on the ice.

All the animals that are tossed on the ice will be picked up by Brahmas' staff members and distributed to local charities or hospitals during the holiday season by Brahmas players and Fan Club members.

All fans that bring stuffed animals to the game will be given a ticket voucher good for two tickets to an upcoming Brahmas home game.

Mike Barack, the Brahmas fifth-year general manager, is looking forward to the "Teddy Bear Toss" promotion.

"This is a really fun promotion," Barack said,"It looks really neat when all the teddy bears come out of the stands and onto the ice. All of the stuffed animals in the arena add to the atmosphere of the game and put everybody in the holiday spirit. It's a lot of fun, and I'm hopeful that the fans that do come to the game will be ready to participate."

Brahmas rookie forward Jim Midgley shares Barack's sentiments.

"We were in Tulsa last Friday where they did the "Teddy Bear Toss" promo," he stated, "It was really cool; that was the first time that I had ever seen anything like that. I'm looking forward to seeing our fans bring their bears to the game on Saturday."

The Brahmas, who enter this week with a 6-14-2 record and in fourth place in the Northeast Division of the Central Hockey League, will be at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, Kansas this Friday, Dec. 20 for a 7:05 p.m. game before returning home on Saturday. For additional information, please contact the Brahmas office at (817) 336-4423.
