Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (August 3)- It will look a bit like a youth revolt on the blueline for the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) as they announced the signing of rookie defenseman Kevin Kraus for the 2010-11 campaign.

Last season Kraus played his third season with the Vernon Vipers (BCHL) and won the 2009 and 2010 Championship. As a member of the Vipers, the 21-year-old blueliner netted 50 points (6 G, 44 A) in 129 games and accumulated 168 penalty minutes. Kraus is no stranger to the postseason, as he and his Vipers saw playoff action for three consecutive seasons where the Garden Grove, CA native posted 17 points (2 G, 15 A) and 32 penalty minutes in 44 games played. Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong looks forward to what the 6-foot-2, 205 pound frame can bring to his defensive front.

"Kevin has a built a great reputation in his young career, and upon speaking with several references he seems like the kind of player that can succeed at this level," Wildfong said.

Kraus joins Jason Deitsch, Jim Burichin, Jeff Hazelwood, Nick Toneys, Matt Pierce, Nathan Saunders and Ryan McLeod for the Brahmas upcoming season. The Brahmas open the 2010-11 year on the road but will host their home opener Friday, October 22. For Brahmas season ticket information please call (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com .
