Laredo Bucks News Release

The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that they have signed rookie forward Reid Edmondson for the 2010-11 season. Edmondson spent last season with Robert Morris University (NCAA D-1).

Prior to the start of last season the 22-year-old Edmondson attended NHL prospects camp with the Washington Capitals. Edmondson played in five games last season for Robert Morris (0-0=0).

"Reid is a very talented center ice man who was recruited by a lot of professional teams the past couple of years," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "Anytime you sign a player that's attended NHL prospects camp you know they have talent."

The 6'3, 220 pound Edmondson played two years of junior hockey for the BCHL's Burnaby Express during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. In 109 combined games for the Express Edmondson put up 47 points (23-24=47) and picked up 80 PIM's.

During the 2008-09 campaign the Richmond, British Columbia native was named Burnaby's top forward as he had 37 points (19-18=37) in 54 games. Edmondson notched career highs in goals (19), assists (18), points (37) and PIM's (43) that season with the Express.

"Reid has shown that he can be a goal scorer and a playmaker and that's what we need from him this season," Ruskowski said. "He's also a big, tough, strong forward."

In 2007-08 Edmondson had 10 points (4-6=10) and 37 PIM's in 55 games for the Express.

Edmondson is the 10th Buck signed for the 2010-11 season.

The Bucks will start their ninth CHL season on October 15th with their home opener October 23rd against Rio Grande Valley at Laredo Energy Arena. Season tickets are on sale now for the 2010-11 season. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to place our order now.
