Quad City Mallards News Release
The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League announced today that they have re-signed center Jason Dolgy and left wing Nick DeCroo for the 2010-11 season. Per club policy, no contract terms were announced.
Dolgy, 25, joined the Mallards for a pair of games at the end of last season, making Quad City the fourth team for which he skated during the 2009-10 campaign. The Montreal native spent most of the year with the Chi-Town Shooters of the All American Hockey League. Dolgy finished third in the AAHL in assists (39), sixth in points (64) and seventh in goals (25). He also played six games with the Flint Generals in the IHL after starting the season in the Netherlands, where he took to the ice in nine games for the Geleen Smoke Eaters.
Dolgy turned pro with the Shooters in 2008-09, scoring 20 goals and recording 61 points in 36 games after completing a four-year college career at Division III SUNY-Brockport. The 6' 1", 194-pound Dolgy totaled eight goals and 19 points in 66 career collegiate games.
"Jason has great speed for what is a speed league and has earned this opportunity to prove himself," said Mallards Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Frank Anzalone.
DeCroo, 23, played four games with the Mallards last spring after completing his senior season at Hobart College but then returned to Hobart to complete his final academic semester. The Sarver, Pennsylvania, native scored four goals and added two assists in ten games as a senior at Division III Hobart. Over three seasons at Hobart after transferring from Bentley College, DeCroo scored 39 times and totaled 61 points in 67 games. In 2008-09 the 6' 3", 220-pound DeCroo scored 20 goals and collected 29 points in 29 games to help Hobart to the second NCAA tournament bid in school history.
"Nick is a good sized wing who was the ability to score and win battles. His good skating ability will also help him," said Anzalone.
Dolgy and DeCroo join Patrik Levesque, Shane Lovdahl, Brandon Marino and Ryan Palmer to bring the number of players signed by the Mallards' for 2010-11 to six.
The Mallards will open their first CHL season on home ice on Saturday night, October 16, at 7:05 p.m. against the Odessa Jackalopes. Mallards 2010-11 ticket packages are now available to meet any budget or schedule. For more information on ticket packages for the upcoming season, contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364. Single game seats will go on sale in the fall on a date to be announced.
