Brahmas Fall 3-1 in Evansville
December 23, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
EVANSVILLE, Indiana - Despite scoring early in the first period, the Brahmas were unable to find the back of the net for a second time as the Icemen get a 3-1 win in Evansville Friday night.
The Brahmas struck first when Adam Hogg put Texas ahead 1-0 at the 3:35 mark of the first period. For Hogg, it was his seventh goal of the season. The Icemen got even just before the intermission though as Brian Bicek netted his tenth goal of the season with seven seconds left in the period.
Midway through the second frame, Josh Beaulieu gave the Icemen their first lead of the night when he beat Texas goaltender Mark Guggenberger for his ninth goal of the season. Evansville would take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
The Brahmas were unable to score in the third period, and Beaulieu added an empty-netter for the Icemen with nine seconds left just for good measure.
Guggenberger made 28 saves on 30 shots fired by the Icemen but was outdueled by Bryan Gillis who stopped 26 of 27 Texas shots.
The Brahmas are back in action on Wednesday, December 28 at the NYTEX Sports Centre when they face off against the Laredo Bucks at 7:00pm.
For ticket information, call 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com . The NYTEX Sports Centre offers speedy and reliable Wi-fi provided by Great Auk Wireless. Also, visit ZuRoma at the NYTEX Sports Centre and Keller locations. All Brahmas away games are shown at ZuRoma through CHL-TV.
