
Boychuk and Szydlowski Assigned from Rochester

Forwards Shawn Szydlowski and Riley Boychuk have been assigned to the Gladiators from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, defenseman Dallas Jackson has been called up to the Bridgeport Soundtigers of the American Hockey League.
Boychuk returns to Gwinnett after he appeared in four games with the Gladiators from November 18th through November 24th. He notched a goal and an assist while with Gwinnett this season.
The Abbotsford, British Columbia native has earned two assists in 26 games this season with the Rochester Americans. He has also earned 18 penalty minutes and is even while with the Americans.
Szydlowski makes his first trip to the ECHL with the Gladiators. He has recorded eight points, all assists, in 38 games this season in the American Hockey League. Szydlowski skated in two games in the AHL with Portland at the conclusion of the 2010-11 season.
The St. Clair Shores, Michigan native skated four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League where he earned 197 points in 258 career OHL games. Szydlowski has an OHL career best 78 points in the 2010-11 season with Erie to rank 3rd in scoring on the Otters.
Jackson makes his first trip to the American Hockey League of his professional career as he has been called up to AHL Bridgeport. Jackson has recorded 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 47 games this season with the Gladiators.
The Edson, Alberta native skated in 39 ECHL games last season with Gwinnett and Reading. He earned nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 30 games with Reading but did not register a point in nine games with Gwinnett last year.
Boychuk and Szydlowski should be available for the Gladiators for Friday's 8:30 p.m. tilt at Chicago against the Express.
The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
