Bounce wins two in a row

November 14, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
South Alabama Bounce News Release

Mobile, AL. The ABA Southern Alabama Bounce took the measure of two division rivals - the Mississippi Miracles and the Houston Undertakers. In the first game, the Bounce won 119-112 at the Kroger Center at Tugaloo College in Mobile. The Bounce led almost the entire game with strong rebounding and three point shots.

Coach McDaniel was extremely pleased with the effort from the entire team. The Bounce were led in scoring by Michael Phillips with 26, Miles Thrash with 22, Fred Meeks with 20 and Ben Lambert with 16.

Owner Victor Calhoun stated that he felt "the Bounce proved that they are going to be a force in the ABA. We were hot from the 3-point range and kept pressure on the Miracles with well executed fast breaks."

And then, it was the Houston Understakers where the Bounce won 128-127 at the Forest Brook Pavilion in Houston. Again, the Bounce led almost the entire game and the team put forth another solid performance. Miles Thrash led with 31 points, Michael Phillips with 21, Fred Meeks with 25. "We're coming home with a two game winning streak and we're ready to give our fans something to cheer about," said Calhoun.
