New York Boulders News Release
The Rockland Boulders finished off the Trois-Rivieres Aigles 8-7, completing the three-game sweep over the Canadian squad. Cody Regis whacked a solo shot over the short porch in the first inning to open the scoring for the Boulders. After falling behind briefly, the Boulders tied the game 2-2 with an RBI double by Jared McDonald, who made his return from the disabled list. Regis promptly broke the tie in the fifth with a second solo shot to make it 3-2.
Trois-Rivieres came back again though, as David Glaude hit a 2-run homer in the sixth to give the Aigles a 4-3 lead. Anthony Hermelyn followed up with a double, forcing Kagen Hopkins from the game after his strong start to the night went south. The good news for Rockland is that they had some fight left in them yet. In the seventh, Mike Montville sent a 2-run homer over the short porch to knot the game at 6-6.
However, the ninth inning opened the floodgates.Ex-Boulder Alex Herceg delivered in the ninth, hitting his second solo homer of the night to make it 7-6 Aigles. But, in the bottom of the ninth, Rockland came back and finished off the sweep. Mikael Mogues and Mike Montville hit back-to-back solo homers to right and sealed the deal. Montville had two big flies on the night and was named player of the game.
