New York Boulders News Release

(Pomona, N.Y.) - The Boulders went into today's game hoping to continue their winning streak of 3-0 in their fourth game of the season against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles.

The Aigles were certainly eager to get a taste of victory. From the top of the first they attempted to steal bases at every opportunity, and Rockland's pitcher Min Hur was not happy about it. Despite an awesome double play by Giuseppe Papaccio and Charlie Law, the Aigles still managed to earn a point in the top of the second.

The Boulders got a run for their money as the Aigles racked up the points in the top of the third. Steve Brown concluded their run streak as he slid into home plate boosting their score to 4-0.

Maybe the Boulders let the winning in their previous games get to their heads, the Aigles walked their way to a 6 point advance in the top of the fourth, giving Trois-Rivieres a 10 point overall lead.

Perhaps a change of pitcher for the Boulders changed their luck. Their defense began to make a comeback, followed by a triple scored by Joe Maloney, a double from Stephen Cardullo, and yet another triple from Jared McDonald. By the bottom of the seventh, the Boulders cut the prior deficit in half increasing the score to 10-5.

The Aigles did not back down earning two runs, making 12 the score to beat. Despite their efforts, the Boulders could not prevail ending the game with a score of 12-5 Aigles. Better luck next time, Boulders.

Come on over to Provident Bank Park tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. to see the Rockland Boulders face off against the Ottawa Champions in a double header.
