
Boulders Acquire Infielder Brandon Pinckney from Worcester Tornadoes

(Ramapo, NY) - The Rockland Boulders of the Can-Am League announced today the acquisition via trade of infielder Brandon Pinckney from the Worcester Tornadoes. In exchange for Pinckney, the Tornadoes receive infielder Melvin Falu.
Pinckney, a native of Sacramento, CA, was a 2003 draft choice of the Cleveland Indians in the 12th round of the June draft. He has played as high as the AAA level in his 10 minor pro seasons and was most recently with Worcester, for whom he batted .339 with four homers and 25 RBI over 56 games. Falu, who was acquired on July12 by Rockland as a free agent, appeared in eight games for the Boulders, batting .257 with no homers and four RBI.
With the two teams involved in the deal currently in the midst of a four-game series in Rockland, both players are expected to be available for their respective teams in tonight's game at Provident Bank Park.
