January 11, 2010 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

MUSKEGON, MI.--- Having captured two of their three contests played the past weekend, the Muskegon Lumberjacks find themselves a scant 2-points from first place in the IHL standings at this juncture of the season. Primary to the Lumberjacks positive fortunes thus far this season has been the prolific scoring power of their number one forward line.

On this date, the Muskegon Lumberjacks, in collaboration with the International Hockey League, have announced that the league's leading scorer from that prolific number one line has been honored with more league-wide kudos and accolades. Right wing ROBIN BOUCHARD has been named the MEIJER / IHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the week of January 4th through January 10th.

BOUCHARD, 36, enjoyed one of the more productive and proficient weeks thus far in this 2009-10 IHL season. The league's leading scoring kingpin with 35(31-27-58), authored 7-points in 3-games the past weekend, climaxed by a brilliant 4-goals, 5-points and +3 rating on Sunday as he spearheaded the Lumberjacks to their second consecutive home ice shutout victory over the Flint Generals, 8-0. It was Bouchard's first-ever 4-goal enormous performance in his illustrious 16-year pro career, earning him the game's #1 Star.

"The Gun-Sling King" actually essayed scoring points in all three of his second place squadron's games. In the process, the Jonquiere, PQ native advanced his latest point-scoring streak to 5-games on 7-goals, 3-assists, 10-points.

"Bouch Almighty" has been dynamic and dominant throughout his 13th campaign festooned in the Muskegon finery.. Muskegon's famous #32 tops the IHL in virtually every offensive department. The 5-11, 185lb cannoneer is foremost in the league in goals (31); points (58); PPG (9); GWG (6); Multi-Goal games (9); SOG (153). His 31-goals are 10 more than all of the IHL. His +25 rating ranks a close circuit second behind injured linemate John DiPace's league-best +26 rating.

Ferocity-focused, Muskegon's popular icon is inexorably scaling the heights of stately stardom and pro hockey immortality. With a total of 658-career goals, he is only 25-goals away from the magic number of 683 which would crown him as the greatest goal-scoring colossus in minor pro hockey history. At this stage of the season, Bouchard has fired his 31-goals in 35-games. He has 41-regular season games remaining to connect on 25-more goals to ascend to the throne of majesty.

This is the third time this season that Bouchard has been honored league-wide for his extraordinary 2009-10 on-ice accomplishments.
