IHL Announces Weekly Honors For Week Thirteen

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Monday that Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard has been named the IHL Player of the Week, Fort Wayne defenseman Bobby Phillips has been named the IHL Rookie of the Week and Fort Wayne goaltender Tim Haun has been named the IHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 10th, 2010.

Bouchard recorded five goals and had two assists for seven points and a plus-one rating in three games played during Week 13. He extended his scoring streak to five games after registering points in all three games, tallying 10 points during the streak (7 goals, 3 assists). On Sunday, Bouchard netted four goals and had one assist in the Lumberjacks 8-0 victory over the Generals. It was the first four-goal output for Bouchard in his 16-year career. The 36-year-old Jonquiere, Quebec native is currently leading the league in scoring with 58 points (31 goals, 27 assists) and is just 25 goals away from breaking the all-time minor league scoring record, currently held by Don Parsons (682).

Other players nominated for the IHL Player of the Week include: Bloomington center Jon Booras, Dayton forward Mike Vaskivou, Flint defenseman Armando Scarlato, Fort Wayne center Colin Chaulk, Port Huron forward Derek Patrosso and Quad City left wing Obi Aduba.

Phillips finished the week scoring one goal and dishing out two assists with a plus-five rating in three games played. The rookie defenseman scored his first professional goal Friday against the Bloomington PrairieThunder to tie the game and send it to overtime. The following night, Phillips tallied two assists in the Komets 4-2 win over Muskegon for his first professional multi-point game. The 24-year-old Erie, Pennsylvania native currently has a plus-16 rating, which leads all IHL defenseman and is second among IHL rookies.

Other players nominated for the IHL Rookie of the Week include: Bloomington defenseman Cole Ruwe, Dayton forward Mike Vaskivou, Flint goaltender Rob Nolan, Muskegon goaltender Matt Lundin, Port Huron left wing Mickael Bedard and Quad City left wing Obi Aduba.

Haun completed the week with a 3-0-0-0 record, appearing in all three of the Komets games played this week while extending his unbeaten in regulation streak to five straight.. He allowed only three goals against in those three games, giving him a 1.50 goals against average. He stopped a total of 87 of 90 total shots he faced, including a Komet season high 41 against Muskegon Saturday, for a.967 save percentage. Sunday, Haun recorded Fort Wayne's first shutout of the season, making 30 saves in the 3-0 win over Dayton. The 29-year-old Solsgirth, Manitoba native is currently leading IHL goaltenders in goals against average (2.18) and is tied for second in wins with 13.

Other goaltenders nominated for the IHL Goaltender of the Week include: Bloomington's Andrew Martin, Dayton's Derek MacIntyre, Flint's Rob Nolan, Muskegon's Sebastien Centomo, Port Huron's Adam Russo and Quad City's Jerad Kaufmann.
