
Boston Jr.'s 46 Points Lifts Clippers Past Stars

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - The Agua Caliente Clippers (4-3) scored a season-high 130 points on their way to a 130-97 victory over the Salt Lake City Stars (1-6) on Monday afternoon at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, Calif.
Agua Caliente was led by LA Clippers assignment player Brandon Boston Jr. who scored a career-high 46 points while shooting 15-20 from the field and 9-12 from downtown.
George King added 20 points and six rebounds while Xavier Moon chipped in with 16 points and eight assists off the bench for the Clippers.
The Stars were led by Jazz two-way player Malik Fitts who scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Derrick Alston Jr. added 19 points, MaCio Teague scored 10 points and Carsen Edwards chipped in with 18 points and five assists in his first start of the season for the Stars.
Brendan Bailey shot 3-5 from beyond the three-point line on his way to 11 points off the bench for Salt Lake City.
The Clippers came out firing in the first quarter behind 16 points from Boston Jr. while the team shot 6-9 from the three-point line. The Clippers were able to stretch their lead to 18 at one point, but the Stars went on a run to close out the opening frame and cut the lead to 30-20 heading into the second quarter.
The Stars were able to take a brief lead halfway through the second quarter behind MaCio Teague's aggressive play. The rookie guard shot 2-5 from the floor while earning two trips to the free-throw line, converting both. Teague finished with eight points in the quarter.
The Clippers were able to go on a 16-6 run in the final 3:30 of the second quarter to push their lead back up to 10 as they led 61-51 heading into halftime.
The Stars struggled to score in the third quarter while the Clippers were led by Boston Jr., King and Moon who each added eight points.
The rough shooting for the Stars continued in the fourth quarter as the team shot 8-23 in the final frame. The Clippers were able to close the game out behind Boston Jr.'s 13 points down the stretch.
The Stars will look to bounce back against the Clippers as the two teams will meet once again on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. (MDT) at Staple Center in Los Angeles, Calf. The midday tilt can be streamed on NBAGLEAGUE.com.
