Boston Frenzy lose to Harlem 125-121

December 2, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

The Boston Frenzy could not overcome 44 fourth quarter points by the Harlem Revival and fell 125-121 Thursday night in New York City. The Frenzy shot the ball above 50% from the floor, but turnovers again were a bugaboo for Boston. The Frenzy turned the ball over 23 times compared to just 17 assists. "We just didn't play smart," said Assistant Coach Lee Davis. "We got a little selfish on the offensive end and it hurt us. It's frustrating when guys who have been playing basketball almost all their lives make mistakes like that."

The Frenzy trailed by 17 early in the first half, when Boston got a lift from its bench. Marcus Houtman and Dennis Chism combined for 27 points and helped the Frenzy to a 57-all tie at the end of the first half.

Boston and Harlem were deadlocked after three quarters as well, but a hectic press-filled fourth quarter spelled doom for the Frenzy who fell down double digits before cutting it to four with one minute left. Boston would never get any closer.

John "Helicopter" Humphrey again led the Frenzy with 28 points on 11 of 25 from the field including a pair of three pointers. Meanwhile Q Randall plugged in 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Frenzy are now 0-3 against their budding rival from New York and just 1-3 overall. The win propels the Revival to 5-0. Harlem had six players in double figures including former University of Vermont star Tobe Carberry's 18 and St. John's forward Willie Shaw' 15. The Frenzy are back in action Saturday night against the New Jersey Skycats. You can catch the game on the home of the Boston Frenzy WBSM News, Talk, Sports 1420.
