ABA begins national and international television coverage
December 2, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA co-Founder, today announced that America One Sports would begin its national and international television coverage (via OBE) with the telecast of Saturday night's Kentucky Colonels vs. Nashville Rhythm game at 630PM Central Time. According to Newman, "We are very pleased to be working with America One Sports and having a chance to bring the exciting ABA brand of high-scoring, fast-paced basketball to millions of fans worldwide."
America One Sports is a network made up of affiliate stations reaching nearly 25 million homes of which about 7.5 million are cable/DTH. America One's affiliates are primarily independent broadcasters and many of them are major media affilated stations including ABC, UPN, Fox, WB, etc. America One Sports also has distribution deals with regional sports networks that include FOX, Comcast, Cox and other affilitated entities reaching over 60 million households in the US plus millions more overseas. America One Television is an independent full-service general entertainment network that provides an array of sports syndication services for non-full-time affiliates. Its sports programming is seen in over 50% of the US television households via local market broadcast affiliates and regional sports networks.
The plan was put together by Events Media International, Inc., a Scottsdale AZ TV/radio consulting company. Gary Nice, EMI CEO added, "Our plans are to feature a Game of the Week and showcase many of the outstanding ABA teams. We'll post a schedule shortly as well as outlets. For now, please check your local TV listings. And of course, you can hear the games on the ABA Radio Network."
Newman stated, "In the coming weeks, we'll be featuring Boston, Motown, Kansas City, Ontario, Las Vegas, Carolina, Texas and our other great teams - and fans will see why the league has grown so rapidly and become the talk of the professional sports world."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
