Boston Frenzy backcourt returns
October 12, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Boston, MA. The ABA Boston Frenzy professional basketball team today announced that Marcus Wills and Marques Houtman will make their return to the Boston Frenzy backcourt in November as the team embarks on its second season in the ABA. The two New Bedford natives have spent the summer abroad playing in several international leagues preparing for the ABA season this winter.
The former Mr. Basketball-Massachusetts' Wills believes that he is better prepared both physically and mentally this year. "Las year was just a learning experience for me," said Wills. "I had to adjust to the fast pace of the game having just returned from a two year brak from basketball. I was able to play with the Frenzy last year and spent the summer playing in Portugal, Paris and Cape Verde. The experience has definitely sharpened my game."
Frenzy GM Dan Savage knows that both guards will play a major role for the Frenzy this year. "Marcus and Marques went head to head with some of the most exciting and skilled guards in the ABA last season and held their own. This year we will look for both to really show what they can do."
The Frenzy's first home series is Friday, November 25th and Saturday, November 26th. For venue and opponent updates for all Frenzy home games, please visit www.bostonfrenzy.com in the coming weeks or email savagesports@juno.com or visit www.abalive.com. -
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
