Boston Breakers News Release

WATERTOWN, Mass. - The Boston Breakers announced today their schedule for the 2016 National Women's Soccer League season.

The Breakers open on the road, taking on the Washington Spirit April 16 at the Maryland Soccer Plex in Boyds, Md. They then return home to play host to Seattle Reign FC on Sunday, April 24, in their 2016 home opener.

The Breakers will play all 10 home games at Jordan Field (formerly known as Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium) on the campus of Harvard University.

"Now that our schedule is released we can start to look forward to the season ahead," Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said. "There are no easy games in this league, and I am looking forward to seeing how this new-look roster will compete."

Following the matches against Washington and Seattle, the Breakers host Portland Thorns FC (May 1 at 5 p.m. ET) and the Chicago Red Stars (May 7 at 7 p.m. ET). The two-time defending NWSL champions FC Kansas City come to Jordan Field on Sunday, May 22 (6:30 p.m.). The expansion Orlando Pride visit Boston on Sunday, July 31 (6 p.m.).

The 2016 schedule will completely avoid league play in the regular season during all FIFA dates. In addition, the NWSL will take a 25-day break from Aug. 1 through Aug. 25 during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. The League will play approximately 74 matches prior to the Olympic break and 26 matches following it.

Season tickets, flex packs, three-game packs, as well as single-game tickets for the April 24 home opener are on sale now. Single-game tickets for the remaining nine home games will go on sale Friday, Feb. 19. Times of the games are subject to change.
