Bossier-Shreveport’s David Rutherford Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (March 14, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Bossier-Shreveport forward David Rutherford has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending March 13, 2011.

Rutherford helped lead his team to four straight wins last week scoring two goals with five assists and a +5 plus/minus rating. The ‚¬ËœBugs leading scorer did most of his damage on Friday versus Dayton (a 7-2 win) and Saturday versus Texas (a 5-1 win). On Friday, the Ladner, British Columbia native scored the game winning goal and had three assists to go with his +3 plus/minus rating. He followed that up on Saturday with a goal and a helper.

CHL Scoring Leaders

On the season, the all-star is tied for 15th in the league with 66 points (35-31) with a +14 plus/minus rating. His 35 goals are tied for fifth most in the league and his seven game winning goals are tied for third.
