BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder center Jon Booras earned his third Player of the Week honor of the season, it was announced Monday by International Hockey League officials
Booras, who is the reigning Player of the Month for his performance during January, received the award for his performances in two games last week.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Booras finished the finished the week with six points on two goals and four assists with a plus-3 rating.
Booras, the team captain, scored five of his six points in the team's 7-1 victory at Muskegon on Saturday. He had one goal and four assists and a puls-5 rating.
The five-point outburst is a single-game high for the PrairieThunder this year. For the week, he scored his two goals on just nine shots
The 26-year-old Billings, Mont. native leads the PrairieThunder with 67 points (28 goals, 39 assists) in 47 games to rank second in the league. He has registered multi-point games 19 times this season.
The honor for Booras marks the 11th time in 18 weeks that a PrairieThunder player has earned a weekly honor. Others earning the award have been goalie Ryan Ludzik (three times), goalie Scott Fankhouser (twice); forward Henry Kuster (once), forward Jan Jas (once) and and Don Parsons (once).
