Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has announced the signing of free agents LaToya Bond, Erin Lawless and Angelina Williams. Each player will join the team when training camp begins April 20.

Bond is a 5-7 point guard who played all 34 games in 2006 with Charlotte, but was waived in training camp last year by Sacramento. A product of the University of Missouri, she averaged 5.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game during her rookie campaign. Bond was a second-round pick of the Sting in 2006, and was selected by the Monarchs in the 2007 WNBA Dispersal Draft.

Lawless, a 6-2 forward, was a three-year starter at Purdue, and one of the Boilermakers' top contributors during a 2006-07 season that fell one game shy of the Final Four. Lawless averaged 10.1 points and a career-best 5.7 rebounds as a senior. She participated in the Fever's camp in 2007.

Williams is a two-year WNBA veteran who played 16 games with Phoenix in 2005 and 21 for Detroit in 2006. A 6-0 guard, Williams played at the University of Illinois before her selection by Phoenix in the second round of the 2005 WNBA Draft. She averaged 2.0 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists after being traded to the Shock, and she saw action in seven playoff games with Detroit. She was waived in 2007 training camps by Detroit and New York.

Led by WNBA All-Stars Tamika Catchings, Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown, the Indiana Fever begins its ninth WNBA season by hosting the Washington Mystics on Saturday, May 17 (7:00 p.m.). Indiana bids for its first WNBA Finals appearance this summer, after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in two of the past three seasons. Season tickets are available at FeverBasketball.com, or by calling (317) 917-2500.
