Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers were defeated by the Johnstown Chiefs 2-1 on Sunday night at the Ervin J. Nutter Center in front of 2,298 fans.

Despite the Bombers not finding the back of the net in the first period, goalie Paul Drew denied each of the six shots he faced to keep the game scoreless in the opening frame.

Christian Gaudet extended his point streak to five games when he scored his 8th of the year, assisted by Joe Van Culin, to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead. It would be short lived, however, as Johnstown's Ryan Del Monte tied the game at the eight minute mark. Following two periods of play the Bombers were outshooting the Chiefs 21-11.

Action remained knotted in the third until Johnstown's Mike Bartlett netted a goal at 7:22 in the period. It turned out to be the eventual game winner, as each of the Bombers' 24 third period shots were turned away.

Drew finished the night 16 of 18, while the Chiefs' Ian Keserich went 44 of 45. Dayton finished the night 0 for 6 on the power play and 3 of 3 on the penalty kill.
