Bombers Break Minor League Record Today

August 1, 2012 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release

BATTLE CREEK, MI- The Battle Creek Bombers broke a minor league baseball record today, but it had nothing to do with on field performance. The Bombers played the "SpongeBob Square Pants" theme song a record 19 times during the Bombers loss to the Lakeshore Chinooks 4-0. The previous record was 18 times by the Battle Creek Yankees in 2003. For the 1,502 summer campers attending the game, they enjoyed every single time the song was played, much to the chagrin of their camp counselors.

The Bombers hit the road for five games before returning home for the final home stand of the season next Tuesday night at 7:05 PM. The Bombers will be hosting the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for Harley Davidson Night and will be featuring a baseball card giveaway.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the prestigious Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America. For tickets call (269) 962-0735 or visit BattleCreekBombers.com. McCamly Plaza Hotel in downtown Battle Creek is a proud supporting sponsor of the Battle Creek Bombers.
