Bombers announce board appointments

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are pleased to announce the appointment of Eugene Kostyra and William Watchorn to the football club's board of director's.

Kostyra and Watchorn were unanimously elected to the Bomber board of directors on Aug. 25.

Kostyra recently held the position of Secretary to the Community and Economic Development Committee of Cabinet with the Government of Manitoba. The committee coordinated all major government initiatives relating to community and economic development. Prior to that, he worked for Winnipeg Hydro and the Canadian Union of Public Employees. He also served as the MLA for the Seven Oaks constituency during the 1980s, worked for the Canadian International Development Agency in South Africa and served as a member of the board of directors for both Centre Venture and the ENSIS Growth Fund.

Watchorn brings more than 30 years of experience in senior financial and operating management to the football club's board of directors. From 1991 until 1997 he was the President and CEO and a director of ENSIS Corporation Inc., which he helped establish in 1991. Prior to 1991, Watchorn worked with Federal Industries Ltd., which he joined in 1982 and where he held a number of general and operating management positions. Watchorn is a chartered accountant by trade and in 1994 he was made a Fellow of the Manitoba Institute.
