Boise Hawks News Release
BOISE, Idaho - Third inning home runs by Justin Marra and Jeffrey Baez fueled a six-run outburst, lifting the Boise Hawks to a 15-3 victory over the Eugene Emeralds at Memorial Stadium.
The Hawks, who had lost four-straight against the Ems, recorded a Northwest League season high in runs - batting around in two different innings.
Locked in a 1-1 stalemate, Boise sent 10 men to the plate in the third, as Baez broke the tie with a line drive three-run homer to left. Danny Canela made it 5-1 with an RBI double, with Marra clubbing a two-run shot to right to make it 7-1.
It was more than enough for Trevor Graham, who fanned a season-high eight men to pick up his team-high third win of the season.
Canela was 3-for-5 with two RBI in the victory, while Baez, Rashad Crawford, Jesse Hodges, and Charlie White all had two hits in the victory.
Eugene's Chase Jensen was 3-for-5 with two doubles and an inside the park home run in the third that tied the score at 1-1.
The series finale is tomorrow night at 7:15 p.m., with Ben Wells meeting Ryan Jernigan.
