
Boise Hawks Gear Up for Last Homestand of the 2009 Season

The Boise Hawks are currently on a 12 day road trip facing the Yakima Bears, Spokane Indians and Tri-City Dust Devils along the way. The Boise Hawks are currently sitting in third place (30-36) in the East Division behind Tri-City (40-26) and Spokane (33-33). Second baseman Logan Watkins is currently sitting in 4th place in the Northwest League for best batting average with .343. Right handed pitcher Robert Hernandez is 9th in the Northwest League for pitching with a 3.47 ERA.

Thursday August 27th the 2009 post-season All-Star team was announced and Boise Hawks players SS Hak-Ju Lee and OF Jose Valdez were named as part of the 2009 team. After Valdez was named to the post-season all-star team he was promoted to the Peoria Chiefs (Low-A). Valdez hit .302 with 17 stolen bases in Boise. Known for his speed, Valdez is tied at second in the NWL with stolen bases, only second to teammate Hak-Ju Lee (22).

Tuesday September 1st- Library Voucher Redemption Night
September 1st is the final Library Voucher Redemption Night sponsored by KeyBank and KBCI. If your child has participated in the program, they have received a reserved seat voucher good for any Tuesday home game. Take advantage of this free voucher and come see the Boise Hawks in action. In addition, prior to the game a Hawks player will read to kids in the Kid's Park near the KeyBank Humphrey Hut at 6:40 p.m.
Tuesday night the Boise Hawks will also be hosting a pep rally during the game featuring former Bronco quarterback Bart Hendricks and members of the Fiesta Bowl-winning team. Fans wearing blue and orange will receive discounted tickets, $8 for HP and 3B Res tickets and $4 1B Res tickets.

Wednesday September 2nd- Family Feast Night
September 2nd is our 7th Wednesday game of the year and will feature $1 Night at the ballpark, come experience the most inexpensive night out in Boise. Family Feast Night is sponsored by Walgreens, KNIN and the "Family-friendly, 89.5 FM, KTSY."
Families can feast on $1 hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches and sno cones. If fans come wearing a HawksNation bracelet, they'll receive a 1st base reserved seat for JUST $1. Bracelets are available at Walgreens, KNIN (5257 W. Fairview Ave. #260 Boise Idaho), and from the Hawks' mobile marketing team Gang Green. The $1 seats for Wednesday night games can be purchased from the Boise Hawks Box Office at 5600 Glenwood St. on the day of the game.

Thursday September 3rd- Thirsty Thursday and Football Tailgate
September 3rd is Thirsty Thursday sponsored by Jacksons, Frito Lay, KTRV FOX 12, KIZN and FamFifteen. Half-price soft drinks all night long and half-price beer, wine and margaritas through the 7th inning. Head to your local Jacksons convenience store and purchase a Frito Lay product. Bring your receipt to the box office and you will be eligible to buy one 1st base reserved ticket and get one free...a $6 dollar savings! Compliments of Frito Lay and Jacksons. You will also be entered into win a chance to visit Wrigley Field
On September 3rd the Boise Hawks will begin their game against the Spokane Indians at 3 p.m. To show their support for the BSU vs. Oregon game happening later that night, the Hawks are hosting a free shuttle to Bronco Stadium and a post-game tailgate party in the Hawks Nest.
The free shuttle will be available to the first 47 people that have a Hawks game ticket for September 3rd. You must RSVP in advance of the September 3rd game with the Hawks office at 322-5000 to get on the shuttle. The shuttle service will take fans to and from Bronco Stadium and you can park in the Hawks lot that night.
If you don't plan to head down to Bronco Stadium to see the action in person, you can participate in the Hawks football tailgate party happening in the Hawks Nest after the game. The party starts at 7 p.m. and drink specials and appetizer specials will be available for everyone. There will even be large televisions broadcasting the game! You do not need a Hawks ticket to come to the tailgate.
