Yakima Bears News Release

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Tri-City Dust Devils (41-26) piled on six runs - including a Tim Wheeler grand slam - in the second inning to capitalize off an unusually wild Brad Wilson and went on to defeat the Yakima Bears (23-44) 7-1 for the sixth consecutive night in front of 2,154 fans at County Stadium Friday night.

Wilson (2-2) walked six batters in 1 1/3 innings, allowing six runs to take the loss. His counterpart, Wes Musick (2-0), was near flawless, allowing just one run on four hits in six innings to earn the victory.

The Bears tallied their lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Matt Davidson two-out, RBI single up the middle. Brad Gemberling was very sharp in relief, throwing 3 2/3 innings, allowing only one unearned run on four hits while striking out four. Yakima has now dropped seven in a row as Tri-City completes the home and home, six-game series sweep of the Bears.

Saturday night Yakima opens up its final three-game home series against the Spokane Indians at 7:05. Andrew Wolcott (2-5, 4.94 ERA) toes the slab for the Bears against Braden Tullis (3-2, 3.26 ERA). All 76 games can be heard on KUTI 1460 AM and are also available streaming via the internet at www.yakimabears.com.

Yakima Bears single-game tickets, season tickets and seven new mini plans are on sale now at the new downtown Bears office at 17 N. 3rd Street, Suite 101 and online at yakimabears.com.
