Boise Burn News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Arena Football League announced late yesterday that Boise Burn linebacker Corey Dodds has signed a one year deal with Utah Blaze of the AFL. Dodds is the first former Burn player to sign a contract at the next level.

The 26-year-old Dodds, who was invited to a two-day tryout with the Blaze, came away from his audition with a contract.

Burn Head Coach Lee Leslie, who coached the Blaze before coming to Boise, said, "I'm extremely proud of Corey and happy for the Blaze. Corey has a motor that never stops and that will help him at the next level."

Dodds, who lives in Salt Lake City during the off-season, is no stranger to the Utah fan base. From 2000-04, the 6-2, 245-pounder played for the University of Utah, starting for the 2005 Fiesta Bowl Champions. Prior to college he played at Hillcrest High School in SLC under the direction of then Head Coach Leslie.

A fan favorite in 2007, Dodds started all 16 games for the Burn, tallying 42.5 tackles (27 solo) 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, and recovered 6 fumbles (returning 3 for TD's).

The arenafootball2's Boise Burn opens camp on March 9th and kicks off its second season on April 5th in Tulsa, with the home opener slated for April 19th against the Tri-Cities Fever. Season tickets are available by calling (208) 383-0080. For more information and to get a full schedule, visit www.boiseburn.com.
