Amarillo Venom News Release
AMARILLO, TEXAS - Love was in the air on Valentine's Day, and the Amarillo Dusters spread that love bug. Cupid made his appearance at the Chase Tower in downtown Amarillo today giving long stem red roses to all the lovely ladies he could find.
Joe Bob McCartt of McCartt and Associates ordered roses for each woman in the Chase Tower. All he needed was a special guy to hand out those roses, making things extra special.
The Amarillo Dusters answered the call to find a cupid! Dusters intern, Blake Law, stepped up to the plate, outfitted in silver wings and hearts.
"I loved it," McCartt said. "This might have to become an annual event!"
Cupid flew from office to office in the Chase Tower, delivering rose and Valentine's messages to every woman he saw. He even posed for a few pictures.
"I was a little embarrassed at first, but it really was fun," Law said. "I know it was special for those women."
Joe Morgado, vice president of the Dusters, said he knows the importance of being in the community.
"We want everyone to understand that we are more than just a professional football team," Morgado said. "We're always ready to help out in the community, even if it means dressing up like Cupid."
The Dusters kick off their season on April 5th against the Central Valley
Coyotes. Season tickets are on sale now. Reserve your seats by calling the
box office at 350-7277 or visit www.dustersfootball.com
