Corpus Christi Sharks News Release

Corpus Christi, Texas: February 13, 2008 - Corpus Christi Sharks Vice President & General Manager, Larry Linde announced a new ticket sales promotion Wednesday afternoon that will have the Sharks literally working for their fans. The "Sharks for Hire" campaign allows businesses that purchase season tickets to put Sharks personnel to work for their company...FREE of charge. The promotion will begin today and will run through the end on February.

In conjunction with the Sharks upcoming second season in Corpus Christi, any individual or company that purchases two full season tickets, or the equivalent in group tickets, will receive one hour of free labor from a Shark staff member (2 hours of labor with the purchase of four tickets). If the equivalent of six full season tickets are purchased, then the Sharks will send Linde or Head Coach, Michael Trigg to perform the labor. Regardless of the nature of the work, the Sharks staff will perform the requested task at hand.

"We're showing everyone that we're going to be a blue collar organization this season, from the players all the way to front office," said Linde. "We're not afraid to get our hands dirty and work for our fans the way an organization should work for its supporters."

Since joining the Sharks organization a year ago, Linde has implemented several successful promotions including the STAR program (which provides season ticket holders the opportunity to win exclusive prizes throughout the off-season) and Pack the House for Charity Night (which raises funds for youth based organizations in the Coastal Bend).

"It's more than just rewarding our fans," said Linde. "It's about having fun and letting them know that they're appreciated. Football isn't a regular business - it's a fun business. And we want all of our fans to participate in that fun, because at the end of the day, the game is for the fans."

Local businesses have already started lining up to take part in the promotional offer. Al Rikke, President of Industrial Piping & Steel Company, is purchasing his tickets and cashing in on the Sharks work offer. Upon his ticket purchase, Rikke will have Assistant General Manager Justin Hart and Linde working on-site for two hours in his rebar fabrication facility on Wednesday.

"This is a great thing for businesses and fans that support the Sharks," said Rikke. "I like the idea of having my team put in a hard day's work. It tells me a lot about the personality and integrity of the organization. I don't know which is better, getting my Shark season tickets or the thought of seeing Shark employees being directly involved in the labor intensive process of rebar fabrication."

The Sharks will open the 2008 season with two consecutive road games in Austin, TX and Bossier-Shreveport, LA. The Sharks will return to the American Bank Center Arena on Saturday night, April 12th for their home opener against the rival Rio Grande Valley Dorados.

Season tickets for the Sharks 2008 season at Radiology Associates Field at the American Bank Center are now on sale. Season Tickets start at just $75 and can be purchased by calling the Sharks Office at (361) 882-9292, or click here to order your tickets and take advantage of the "Sharks for Hire" offer.
