Bismarck Bobcats News Release
BISMARCK, ND-The Bobcats have an opportunity for some early-season separation in the standings Friday night when they travel to Aberdeen to battle the Wings.
After a sweep of Minot last weekend, the Bobcats have 20 points in the NAHL Central Division standings, tied with Austin for first place. Aberdeen is just behind at 19 points. Neither team plays Saturday, so a Bobcat win could put them ahead of the Wings by three after the weekend.
Friday's matchup will have plenty of intrigue between the pipes, as the Wings' Chad Catt has a 1.41 goals against average, third best in the NAHL, and a .957 saves percentage, through 10 games. Bismarck's Aaron Nelson (Bismarck, ND) is ninth best in the NAHL in goals against at 2.06, and has a .927 saves percentage.
Huba Sekesi (Munich, Germany) earned NAHL Central Division Star of the Week honors this week after a four-point weekend, with two game-winning goals against the Minotauros, last weekend. Filip Starzynski (Warsaw, Poland) has 19 points, tied for second in the league in scoring, while Nate Repensky (Duluth, MN) is sixth in scoring with 17 points.
Aberdeen is led by Bjorn Sigurdarson's 15 points, 12th best in the league.
Gametime is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Pregame coverage on Supertalk 1270 KLXX begins at 6:50 p.m. The Bobcats play on the road at Austin next Friday and Saturday.
