Brookings Blizzard News Release

The blizzard are gearing up for a Hockey Halloween Weekend Double Header.

The Blizzard will take on the Minot Minotauros twice this weekend at the Larson Ice Center. It will be the first regular season meeting between the two teams this season. In the preseason the Tauros got the best of the Blizzard, beating Brookings 3-1 in an exhibition game held at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND back in September.

Both teams have gotten off to slow starts in 2013 but both teams have been playing well the last few weeks.

The Blizzard have a one-point lead in the over Minot in the Central Division, each team with two wins on the year.

Fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the rink on Friday night. There will be prizes given away for best dressed. It is also scout night. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can get into the game for only $2 with a paying adult ticket if they wear their uniform.

On Saturday fans will get to enjoy a night with Bernie and all of his mascot friends. It's Bernie's Mascot Mania Night. Mascots from all over will take part in fun activities on and off the ice. Saturday's game is sponsored by First Bank & Trust.

The puck drops at 7:15pm both nights and the games can be seen on Fasthockey.com.

Tickets are on sale now at the Blizzard office at the Larson Ice Center, on-line, and at Bozied's Shell Station at 6th and Medary.

There will be no Whiskey Creek VIP Deck tickets for Friday night, but VIP tickets are still available for Saturday's game. VIP tickets include game admission, a meal from Whiskey Creek, as well as beer and soda. Call to reserve your tickets now! 605-592-9114.
