Bobcat Weekend Preview - Cats Wrap Road Schedule at Wilderness
March 20, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Bismarck Bobcats News Release
CLOQUET, MN - The Bismarck Bobcats will play their final away games of the 2014-15 regular season with a pair of interdivision contests against the Minnesota Wilderness.
As they did in their last two outings, the Bobcats have a chance to lock up the third seed in the Central Division playoffs with just one win.
Thanks to a Thursday win over the in-state rival Magicians, Minnesota sits deadlocked with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs for the top spot in the Midwest. The Wilderness, however, have a game-in-hand on the Ice Dogs in the final two weeks of regular season play.
Through 25 home contests, the Wilderness are an impressive 19-4-2 at the "Lumberdome."
Recently committed to the University of Minnesota, Darian Romanko continues to carry the torch for the Wilderness, having contributed an eye-popping seven goals and nine assists in his last eight games- including a natural hat trick against the Cats on February 27.
Bobcat co-captain Evan Giesler remains atop the team's point standings with 28 goals and 21 assists- also good for the team lead in goals and tied for third league-wide in that category.
The Cats will look to get their offense back on track heading into the postseason, having only scored six goals in their last four games- including suffering a pair of shutouts in that span.
Live coverage of Friday's weekend opener will start at 6:40pm locally on SuperTalk 1270, KLXX-AM, the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, and worldwide online at NAHL.FASTHockey.com, the official web television partner of the North American Hockey League.
