Tomahawks Cup Consolation and Championship Games Set for Monday

JOHNSTOWN, PA -The 2nd Annual Tomahawks Cup High School Hockey Tournament will conclude Monday, March 23 with the consolation and championship games. The games are being made up after being postponed due to weather back on January 26.

The championship game at 8 p.m. features a matchup of Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League foes, as Bishop McCort High School takes on defending Tomahawks Cup champion Westmont Hilltop High School.

Westmont defeated Greater Johnstown High School on the first day of the tournament, while Bishop McCort defeated Richland High School.

The Hilltoppers defeated the Crimson Crushers 3-2 in their lone meeting of the season.

The Consolation game at 6 p.m. features two Laurel Mountain Hockey League teams, as Greater Johnstown takes on Richland. Both the Trojans and the Rams made the postseason, with Richland advancing to the title game against Altoona.

Last season, Westmont defeated Johnstown 7-2 to win the inaugural Tomahawks Cup.

Richland took the consolation game with a 6-3 victory over Bishop McCort.
