JOHNSTOWN, PA -On a night when the Tomahawks needed a victory, both the power play and the penalty kill came up strong, lifting Johnstown to a 3-0 win over the Soo Eagles on Friday night.

The Tomahawks went 3-for-8 on the power play and a perfect 8-for-8 on the penalty kill.

Zac Robbins got the Tomahawks on the board 7:29 into the first period, as his shot slid through the legs of goaltender Chad Catt. Lane Valimont and Ian Spencer each added assists on the goal.

Tanner Barnes extended the lead to two, taking the puck in the corner and scoring with four seconds remaining in the first period.

Alex Jaeckle set the final score with the third power-play goal of the night at 1:54 of the third period.

Goaltender Nick DeSimmone stopped 32 of 32 shots, before leaving the game due to injury with 5:57 remaining in the third period. Jake Gwillim finished the game for the Tomahawks, stopping all three shots he faced.
