Bo Levi Mitchell Signs Four-Year Deal with Stamps

The Calgary Stampeders have signed international quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell to a four-year contract that will keep him with the Red and White through the 2022 season.

Bo Levi Mitchell and Stampeders president/general manager John Hufnagel will be available in the players' lounge at McMahon Stadium today at 4 p.m. Members of the media must enter through the clubhouse doors at the south end of the stadium.

Mitchell is a two-time winner of the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award, a two-time Grey Cup MVP and with a career record of 69-15-2, he is the winningest quarterback in CFL history.

"It's great to have Bo back for four more years," said Stampeders president and general manager John Hufnagel. "He had lots of options out there and I'm pleased he's made this commitment to the Stampeders and that he's chosen to continue building on his already-impressive legacy in Calgary."

In 2018, Mitchell led the Stamps to a league-best 13-5 record and was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Player after leading the league with 35 touchdown passes and cracking the 5,000-yard plateau for the second time in his career. He completed 356 of 585 passes for 5,124 yards and his 35 TD throws compared to just 14 interceptions resulted in a CFL-leading touchdown-to-interception ratio of 2.5. Mitchell topped the CFL with 42 completions of at least 30 yards and had five 300-yard games as well as six other contests in which he threw for at least 270 yards. His season included a 491-yard performance that represented a single-game high for all CFL quarterbacks in 2018.

Mitchell passed 14 players on the CFL's all-time passing-yards list during the 2018 season and now ranks 21st all-time. He threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns in the Western Final and had 253 passing yards and two touchdowns in the Grey Cup to earn the game's MVP award.

Mitchell, who joined the Stamps in 2012 and has been the team's starter since 2014, has played 125 career games for Calgary and thrown for 24,473 yards and 150 touchdowns. He is the only quarterback in franchise history to lead the Red and White to multiple championships as a starter.
